Akal Group of Institutions, Sangrur, is dedicated to providing quality education with a focus on empowering women and fostering holistic development. Established in 1970 with the aim of uplifting underprivileged girls in the Malwa region, the group has grown to encompass multiple institutions, including Akal Degree College for Women, Akal College of Education for Women, Fatehgarh Chhanna, Akal Collegiate Senior Secondary School for Girls, and Sardar Gurbakhsh Singh Sibia Public School. With a commitment to blending academic excellence with values, we strive to create an inclusive environment where students can achieve their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our Vision
The foundation stone of the new college building was laid in 1988.For inspiration the college looks towards His Holiness Sant Attar singhJiMaharaj who was the first to launch movement for the spread of female education in the malwa region. S.TegvirSibia S/o S.Gurbaksh Singh Sibia was the president of this college and group of Akal Colleges, under his leadership this college had become a leading institution and is progressing by leaps and bounds. The college is functioning in peaceful atmosphere with all modern facilities. It has always shown good results.
Students of this college observe examplary discipline and conduct. Ms. SivrajKaur the founder Principal had served this college as Principal for 20 years. The college made quite a rapid progress under her able guidance she proved to be an asset to the institution. Dr.HarjitKaur served as Principal of this college from 01-07-1991 to 30-09-2010and now she is handling the post of Director, General Administration. Principal SivrajKaur is the overall incharge of all the colleges. At present Dr.SukhmeenSidhu is working as the Principal of this college since 18-11-2010.
After the untimely of sad demise of S. Tegvir Singh SibiaJi, S. Karanvir Singh Sibia his brother has been unanimously selected as Chairman of Akal group of colleges. We have hope that under his Stewardship Akal Group of Colleges would achieve new heights of progress and serve the cause of female education of this area of malwa region.
